This demo is a first glimpse into the project. It's a slice of the adventure that introduces the story, characters, and atmosphere I’m building.

Before you play

• Save data likely won’t transfer to the full release. Think of this as a stand-alone preview.
• Features and balancing may change. The project is still in development.
• Expect the occasional rough edge (and please let me know if you find any!).

Known bugs

• Rebooting the game using F12 (possible with most Essentials-based fangames crashes the game. If you want to restart your game, please close and re-open the window instead.
• Windows may flag the software as potential malware, but this is a false positive. If you’re still (understandably) cautious, feel free to ask in the Discord for verification and peace of mind.
• When using MacOS, the .app file needs to be placed into the Applications folder. Otherwise, it won't work.
• The game will freeze some times. Make sure to save regularly.

This demo does not autosave and may contain unintended errors. Please save your progress often to avoid losing data. Save points are available via the in-game menu (press X).

A few tips

• Save often, just in case.
• Take your time exploring! There are plenty of little details to discover.
• Echo is a game centered on exploration. If you rush through dialogues without paying attention, you’ll miss key context and won’t know where to go.
• Some mechanics differ– either slightly or significantly– from the official series. The game will explain these changes, so be sure to read carefully.
• The game will clearly indicate when you’ve reached the demo’s key plot points, but that doesn’t mean exploration ends there. Many optional areas remain to be discovered.
• Feedback is super valuable. If something feels off, I’d love to hear about it.
